I never thought my Z could look so good again without a repaint! I detailed it for the first time, ever - first time I've detailed ANY car, ever - yesterday. Usually I just do the good ol' wash-'n-wax. This time I did the following:Wash Mother's clay bar Meguiar's paint cleaner Meguiar's polish Back-to-black on molding Rock guard cleaned with Simple Green on a brush, then polish on it And then it got too close to dark to apply wax, so that'll happen tonight. Wow. I really didn't believe my paint could look like it was wet again, like they advertised. How long will the swirls stay gone like this? I know this post is pointless without pics, so here they are: I was wiping polish off the hood when I saw this reflection:

 Smooth like glass!
Unfortunately this now points out even further all the little defects - a hundred tiny rock chips and really ugly old deteriorating moldings. Is there a way to remove the blob of paint from touched-up chips? You can see a triangle of three really nice chips in the darkest part of the reflection on the right side in the first pic. I think there are around 9 just on the "stem" of one of the sideview mirrors, and around 25 along the bottom half of the passsenger door. But that's only when you get up close - for now I'll sit back and enjoy the view. ;-)
